Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts Movement

These images are drawn by hand using black ink, then overlayed by multiple watercolour washes onto Arches heavyweight 100% cotton paper. The images themselves are roughly A4 centred on A3 paper sheets.

My love of Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts Movement has always been heavily inspired by the great masters such as Alphonse Mucha, M.P. Verneuil, Eugene Grasset, Will Bradley, Jessie King and many others, as will be evident from the subject matter. I enjoy taking elements and adding a few details here and there, playing with symmetry, simply to see for myself how it might look. They are my cover versions of old classics.

Some of these works are available from the Fair Oak Workshops and also The Old Post House
